Our story
From feeling to physics
The Phyling adventure began in 2018, when Jean-Philippe Boucher and Romain Labbé, then PhD students at LadHyX, the hydrodynamics laboratory of École polytechnique, made a simple observation: laboratory measurement technologies had to become available in the field. They founded Phyling to put science at the service of performance.
Driven by innovation and excellence, the company quickly began working closely with athletes and federations, in particular the French Cycling Federation, for which it designs and makes the power sensors used on the track at the Tokyo and then Paris Olympic Games.
By specialising in custom sensor design and mastering the whole embedded measurement chain, Phyling guarantees reliable and transparent data collection that meets the most demanding needs.
Today, Phyling also supports companies in their innovation projects by building sensors into the heart of their equipment, hand in hand with its industrial partners, from the idea to final integration.
Phyling keeps very close ties with École polytechnique: our offices and workshops are on its campus, in the Drahi X-Novation Center in Palaiseau. That is where we design, make and test our sensors, close to the research where the company was born.
